Sky News host Paul Murray says the fact that Prime Minister Scott Morrison did not accept Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce’s resignation shows “we can move on from this”.
“Of course the weekend was obsessed with old text messages that were never really meant for public consumption,” Mr Murray said.
“Yet somebody decided – that somebody being Barnaby Joyce – to send, well, a free character assessment of the Prime Minister when he was on the backbench.”
Mr Murray said Mr Morrison is “100 per cent correct” in saying there are plenty of other concerns than what people are sending in texts.
“The fact that he didn’t take the resignation shows we can move on from this, don’t have to be best mates to do the job.”
