Government pledges $75 million to clean energy in Victoria

An underground electricity interconnector is set to bring cheap, clean energy to Victoria from Tasmania and create 2,800 jobs while cutting CO2 emissions.

The $75 million Marinus Link project will add 1,500 megawatts of hydro power to Tasmania’s grid, making the state a major energy exporter.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison will also commit $65 million to the Tarraleah pumped hydro scheme as part of his two-day Tasmanian visit.
