If Australia’s not worth fighting for then ‘no other country is’

Sky News Queensland Editor Peter Gleeson says “of course” young Australians would fight for their country if they needed to.

This comes amid a poll by the IPA, which revealed Australians aged 18-34 would mostly prefer to leave the country than stay and fight if it was in the same situation as Ukraine.

“I mean, look at ANZAC Day – that’s the day we most feel Australian, it’s the most patriotic day in our annual calendar, and I think that there’s a strong argument … that we would defend our country in that situation,” Mr Gleeson told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“Australia’s the greatest country on Earth, and if this country’s not worth fighting for, no other country is.”
