Lightning Flashes as Storms Throttle Maryland


Lightning flashed through the sky above southern Maryland, on Thursday, August 4, as damaging storms and power outages were reported in the region. A resident of Crapo, Maryland, captured this footage as storms pummeled nearby Smith Island and Baltimore, according to reports. The National Weather Service said more thunderstorms are expected across the area on Friday and that slow-moving storms will have the capability to produce heavy rain and localized flooding.
