Maryland Police Rescue Two Young Children From Car Crashed Into Pond

A 27-year-old unlicensed driver was arrested after he and his passengers, including two young children, had to be rescued from a half-submerged car that had come off the road in Severn, Maryland, on April 1. Bodycam footage released by Anne Arundel County Police Department shows officers at the scene, with one smashing windows so the children, aged nine months and three years, respectively, could be rescued. Police said the rescue took place around 9:15 pm in Severn-Danza Park, after the car “went off the road through trees and a fence before becoming half-submerged in a drainage pond.” No one was harmed, they said.
