Dragons teammate Jack Bird had just scored a try and the Knights players were catching their breath from the chase.
As his teammates ran in to celebrate, Lomax bizarrely decided to get Newcastle back-rower Tyson Frizell in on the excitement.

The Dragons centre leapt off the ground and unexpectedly jumped onto Frizell’s back, riding his opponent.

A furious Frizell understandably turned around and remonstrated with Lomax for the strange incident. A scuffle involving several players ensued.
Phil Gould blasted Lomax over his antics.
“Ridiculous,” Gould said on Nine.
“You could injure someone’s knee or back or anything like that.
“He’s not your teammate.”
Lomax and Frizell were teammates before the latter left the Dragons after the 2020 season.

The Red V centre spoke to Fox League following the game and was asked to explain his actions.
“Old friends. He’s too good of a player,” Lomax said of Frizell.
“I just thought whatever I can do to get him off his game. He’s so hard to handle.
“You’ve seen how damaging he is. He’s been missed here at the Dragons. It’s all friendly banter.”
Lomax was also the subject of what looked like a fierce altercation with Knights firebrand David Klemmer after full-time.
